TASMAP is progressively introducing a 1:50 000 Topographic Mapping Series.
Tasmania’s second largest city, Launceston is the main feature on this map. Built at the junction of the North Esk and South Esk rivers, Launceston is a city full of character, eye-catching architecture, collectors shops and restaurants. On the outskirts of the city is the Cataract Gorge, with panoramic views, walking trails, sculpted gardens and a chairlift. Also shown are the satellite townships of Carrick, Longford, Hadspen, Perth, and Evandale, each featuring their own unique history.
The 1:50 000 Map Series provides clear and accurate portrayal of topographic information, with symbols and map content giving enhanced depiction of buildings, hill shading and a simplified classification of vegetation.
